Would you like to add prescription lenses or customize your glasses?

With Vistaexpert, you can turn the frame you love into a pair of glasses made for you. You can add prescription lenses to an optical frame or sunglasses, or customize the lenses by choosing from the options available for the selected model, such as colours and treatments.

We’ll guide you step by step to help you choose the solution that best suits your needs.

  • Distance — for myopia, hyperopia and/or astigmatism.
  • Near — for presbyopia.
  • Treatment only — to customize your lenses without prescription.

Our online service is dedicated to single-vision lenses. Progressive or multifocal lenses require specific measurements and an in-person consultation and are therefore not available online.

How to customize your glasses

1. Choose your frame

Find the model you like and, from the product page, select “Add prescription lenses” or “Customize lenses”.

2. Tell us how you’ll use your glasses

Choose the option that best suits your needs:

  • Distance: for myopia, hyperopia and/or astigmatism.
  • Near: for near vision, for example in case of presbyopia.
  • Treatment only: if you want to customize your lenses without adding prescription.

3. Enter your prescription details

If you choose prescription lenses, you will be asked to enter the values shown on your eye prescription for each eye.

The abbreviations used to identify each eye may include:

  • OD / RE: right eye.
  • OS / LE: left eye.

Some of the most common values you may find are:

  • SPH / Sphere: the value used to correct myopia or hyperopia. Pay particular attention to the + or − sign.
  • CYL / Cylinder: the value related to any astigmatism correction.
  • AXIS: the value, expressed in degrees, associated with the correction of astigmatism.
  • PD / Pupillary Distance: the distance between your pupils, expressed in millimetres, required for correct lens centration.

The format and abbreviations used may vary depending on the specialist who issued your prescription.

Don’t know your pupillary distance?

Your pupillary distance, or PD, may be shown on your eye prescription.

If it is not included, you can measure it using one of the following apps:

4. Send your eye prescription

To create your glasses with prescription lenses, you must provide your most recent eye prescription.

You can upload it during your order or send it later to our Customer Service team at support@vistaexpert.mom.

Before production begins, your prescription will be checked by an optician, who will verify that the values you entered are consistent with those provided by your eye care professional and that the lenses you selected are suitable for your prescription and order.

Important: the values entered manually do not replace your eye prescription. If we do not receive it, your order will remain on hold and cannot be processed.

If our check identifies any differences or if the selected solution needs to be changed, we may contact you before proceeding. This may result in a change to the lens price and longer preparation times.

5. Customize your lenses

Choose from the options available for the selected model and create glasses that best suit your style and needs.

Depending on the frame and lens type, different customization options may be available, such as colours and treatments. Options may change over time, and not every solution is available for every frame or prescription: during the selection process, you will always see the alternatives available for your order.

The online preview is for reference only. Lens colours, intensity and appearance may differ slightly from what you see on screen and from the actual product.

6. Review and complete your order

Before confirming, carefully check your selections and, if you have chosen prescription lenses, make sure the values entered match your prescription.

Once the customization is complete, the lenses will be added to your chosen frame and you can proceed with your order.

How long does lens production take?

Customized lens production takes approximately 5 working days. Additional time may be required to source and prepare the frame if it is not immediately available.

For prescription lenses, production can only begin once we have received all the necessary information and your eye prescription. Missing information or additional checks may therefore extend preparation times.

Can I change or cancel my order?

If you notice that you entered incorrect information or would like to change one of your selections, contact our Customer Service team at support@vistaexpert.mom as soon as possible.

Once our laboratory has started producing the lenses, it will no longer be possible to change or cancel the order.

To check whether production has already started, please contact our Customer Service team.

Can I return glasses with customized lenses?

Glasses made with prescription lenses or other lens work carried out specifically at the customer’s request are customized products and are excluded from the right of withdrawal under applicable law.

This does not affect your rights in the event of a lack of conformity or an error in production attributable to the product or service.

Frequently asked questions

Can I order progressive or multifocal lenses?

Online, you can choose:

  • prescription lenses for distance vision;
  • prescription lenses for near vision;
  • non-prescription lenses with the available treatments.

Progressive or multifocal lenses allow you to see clearly at different distances through the same lens and require specific measurements taken on both the wearer and the frame.

For this reason, they are not available online. If you need progressive or multifocal lenses, you can visit one of our Vistaexpert stores, where our opticians can take the necessary measurements and recommend the solution that best suits your needs.

Do I need to send my prescription even if I enter all the values manually?

Yes. Your most recent eye prescription is required for all orders with prescription lenses. The prescription is checked by an optician before production begins. The optician will review your prescription and verify that the lenses selected are suitable for the characteristics of your order.

What happens if I don’t send my prescription?

Your order will remain on hold and we will not be able to begin producing the lenses until we receive your prescription.

What happens if the values I enter are different from those on my prescription?

Before proceeding, we will carry out the necessary checks.

If the differences require changes to the selected lenses or result in a different price, we may contact you before production begins. This may extend the preparation time of your order.

I don’t know my pupillary distance. How can I measure it?

First, check whether it is shown on your prescription.

If it is not included, you can use one of the following apps:
